4 Month Update!

Well, it's been 4 months since Heather and I forst started this journey. It has been a very eye-opening expierence for the both of us. It has taught us that no matter what, if you put a little bit of effort in this journey, you will see results.

Well onto the update:

As of August 18th we had our 4 month weight in and measurements. First off Miss Heather has lost a total of 24 pounds, taking her from 210 pounds back in April, to currently 186 pounds as of August 27th! I am so proud of my wife. She works so hard every time we work with our trainer Omar. Well now onto my self! From April 2010 I have lost a total of 28 pounds, taking me from 485 pounds back in April, to currently 455 pounds as of today! This is something that I never thought was possible. I struggled with the thoughts of "can i really get this done?" "Will i be strong minded, yo be able to follow the meal plan correctly?" Well now I am showing you that YOU TOO can do it. Don't let anyone, or anything stand in the way of your goals in life. The reward in the end is in sight and i am not stopping until i can no longer go on..

It's Been Awhile! Dedicating this to 2 People!

Well as the title states, it has been awhile since I've blogged, so I figured I'd get back in tha saddle lol. Well a lot has happened since the last time I blogged, so let's see..Oh I've lost more weight..The last time I blogged I believe I was at 480lbs and now with starting my training sessions on my legs, I've managed to drop down to 466lbs! It's still all surreal right now. I can't even remember the last time I was that weight. To think that I was once 560lbs(with pics to prove) to now 94 pounds lighter is just insane to me..I'd like to dedicate this blog to my mentor. Someone who pushes me to do my best, and never give up. I don't only consider this guy my "personal trainer" but I also consider him my hermano(brother) my homeboy, and my sergeant. Omar Cortez never gives up on me and he always works my ass of even when I try to give up on him he says something to motivate me each time and that means a lot. So Omar if you read this bro, I am in debt to you for takin me and Heather on and helping us to succeed on this journey, and helping me become stronger and to have more faith in my self. Your truely a god sent gift bro. Heather my lovely wife. Thank you also. Thank you for never leaving my side. No matter what the circumstances were I know that you will support me 100% and were in this together babe. I love you dearly for that. Your love and sternness is what keeps me going and I know we both will be healthier and happier when we reach our goals. Until next time I'm out!

LOOK!??! A PINHOLE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!!

Welp, I have been away from my blog for a couple of weeks so I figured I would catch up on things. A lot has happened and gone on and I don't know if I have time to post it all lol. Well let's get down to it! I officially weighted in at 474lbs.! Yup I went from 560 in 2007 to 483 in April to now 474 lbs! With a total of 47 inches! It feels great! I am more motivated than ever. The more I see the weight fall, the more I want. It's almost like an addiction. I want to feel the burning, the tightness, there's something about it. Something else I want to talk about is my lovely wife Heather. She has lost alot as well. She went from 230 to now 200.8lbs. She can also run 2 miles non stop in under 30 minutes. She is truely amazing, and i couldn't be any more proud of her. We see that light, it's a small pinhole of a light, but we see it, and it makes us smile:)

You WILL NOT live past 30! Inspired by Erin Velez..We got this Honey:)

I was reading my girl Erins blog about how she "1. Made a clear and conscience choice that I wanted to live past thirty which I was told I probably wouldn't." Thanks Erin for that comment cause you reminded me bout something. After I ended up in my wheelchair I had no where to go. No one to ask for help so I took things into my own hands and hired a lawyer. Well to make a long, long story short lol I ended up suing the company because I felt that because of there stupidity I ended up hurting myself which could have all been avoided. So I won the suit and after all was said and done the mediator said the craziest thing to me..."Well Mr.Sanchez, because of your level of injury and weight, we have to label you, meaning that you will pass away by the age if 30." I couldn't believe it. I was totally blown away.. Here this man not GOD but some man telling me when I was going to die?!? LOL Well guess what, I am 29 years old and I'm going to make it. I am going to lose all this weight, and then when I do, I'm going to send that mediator a picture of me on my 30th birthday with a card that will read "SORRY I BEAT YOU."

Simply Change

In the beginning I had this idea, this thought that if I just ate the right way maybe, just maybe the weight would some how mysteriously disappear..What I soon realized was that's not the case. "Now Is not the time..just wait!" is what I recall my self saying all the time back when I so called "tried" to do something about my health. As I workout more and more with Omar, I can feel the change. I am starting to see the difference in my body. My clothes fit me different, and my stamina has increased. I want more, and I find my self thinking about the future. The thing that's bothering me the most is my initial weight loss. The years and years of fat build up has stretched my skin, and when the fat is gone, gravity sets in..I know I can't afford the proper surgery at this moment, but like my wife Heather said "one day at a time we will cross that bridge when we get to it." It's all good though! I'm gonna keep going until I can't go anymore:) Until the next time kiddos, I'm out!

Wow The Change!

When I first started working out, dieting, I didn't really pay any mind to the before pictures, remembering the old me wasn't exactly what I wanted to do. Hell I was trying to improve my self so maybe, just maybe I would forget about how I used to look once I lost all the weight, and got to were I wanted to be. WRONG. Going through some old photo albums, I stumbled across some old pictures of my wife Heather and I. Holy Moses!?! I looked way bigger back in 2005 as well as Heather. The transformation is insane. How can someone go from skinny to big, to bigger? It's mind boggling to me. That's what is making me want this even more than before. It's addicting, the way I feel after I workout, the way I feel after I swim 10 laps. IT'S ALL ADDICTING. After seeing that I lost 8lbs and 261/4 inches in just 6 weeks makes me want more. I know that my life/health are all going to be better mow.

My 15 Minutes...I'm gonna do this!

When I first started this my legs were weak. I couldn't even walk outside with out already being tired, or out of breath. It's hard carrying 495lbs around you know. So my trainer Omar gave me a task, something like homework. "I want you to walk 1 mile a day, or 30 minutes". Well 1 mile was outta the picture. I couldn't even walk for 3 minutes straight. So I pushed my self. I tried walking for 15 minutes a day breaking that up into 3 minute intervals. That was hella hard, and took for ever. I think I stopped atleast 20 times in between just to catch my breath. I did that routine for 2 weeks everyday. I then switched it up. Trying 5 minute intervals. I started noticing a change in strength. Something was happening and what it was felt really good. I walked 5 minutes 3 times, but I still ended up stopping 3-4 times in between. Not too bad, but I didn't want that. So that leads me to present day. I am proud to say that I can now walk for 15 minutes STRAIGHT non stop! It feels good to sweat and hear my heart pump because I know I am doing something other than sitting around watching t.v all day.
